Ahu Aysal Kerimoğlu

Ahu Kerimoğlu Aysal was born in Istanbul in 1957. Her father is Prof. Dr. Sebahattin Kerimoğlu, the founder of the Neurology Department at Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, and her mother is Meryem Nimet Kerimoğlu. After completing her primary education at Istanbul Şişli Terakki, she went to England and attended Eastbourne College. Ahu Hanım, who met Ünal Aysal during her school years, tied the knot with him, and they later continued their education together at Neuchâtel University in Switzerland. Due to her husband's business, they subsequently settled in Belgium.

Ahu Hanım has two daughters named Ala Aysal Şirin and Ceyla Aysal from her marriage with her former husband, and also three grandchildren named Aksel Şirin, Arman Şirin, and Kaan Ünal Mızraklı.

Ahu Aysal first entered the tourism sector in Turkey in 1985. She established Club Salima, the first holiday village in Kemer, Antalya. In 1999, again in Kemer, she began the project for Ma Biche Hotel, which also housed Turkey's first Thalassotherapy Center. After launching the facility in 2002, she leased out its operation.

Ahu Hanım returned to Istanbul in 2002 and began serving as the Vice Chairperson of the Board at Unit Turizm Yatırımları A.Ş., a family company. In the same year, Aysal purchased the land in Kuruçeşme where the former Muhsinzade Mansion was located. She rebuilt the mansion in accordance with its original structure and opened her dream project, Hotel Les Ottomans, in 2006. The hotel, where Ahu Hanım still serves as the General Manager, was designed and certified in accordance with the 'Feng Shui' concept.

As the founder and manager of Hotel Les Ottomans, which has received numerous awards, Ahu Aysal was selected as the 'Businesswoman of the Year' by Ekonomist magazine in 2007. Ahu Hanım is a member of SKAL International, TUROB (Hotel Association of Turkey), TURYİD (Turkish Restaurant & Entertainment Association), KAGİDER (Women Entrepreneurs Association of Turkey), ÖZBİ (Association of Small and Boutique Hotels of Turkey), and TYD (Turkish Tourism Investors Association).

Having achieved numerous successes, Ahu Aysal has built a kindergarten and a wedding hall in Antalya as part of social responsibility projects. She has also donated her classic Volkswagen car to the Rahmi M. Koç Museum to be exhibited there.
